The foot snail is a little anthropomorphic creature that lives in gardens not as a pest, but as a traveler wandering through. The foot within the snail shell implies a humanoid in a mobile home, moving slowly and calmly through life, no matter what threatens its shell. The makeup of the foot snail creates mystery: what does the inside of the shell look like? Is it a large mansion? Is there just enough space for a human body to sit comfortably as if driving a car? This piece also begs the question: What is this snail’s role in the ecosystem? What is our role in the ecosystem?
